Aside from adding employee bios, personalizing your site could mean you have a charity page, community calendar, corkboard page, etc. If your organization participates in charity events, such as volunteering time to your local soup kitchen, joining walks for breast cancer, and spending time at senior centers, you should make this information available on your website. You probably don't want to list your charitable donations on your home page, as this might seem boastful. However, providing this information on another page may give you the leg up on your competition. You could also list upcoming local events on a separate page on your site. This will lead viewers to believe that you socialize within your community and that you enjoy the same activities they like. Your clients will love to see that you may be attending the same community event as them, so they can see you in person, outside of your firm, in a casual setting. You could also include a corkboard page where clients can post flyers to spread the word about their upcoming event. This may even increase traffic to your site, by pulling in people who otherwise, may not have visited your site.

Think about the folks you do business with in your daily life. What do they do to stand out in your mind? Are they receptive? Timely? Professional? Make sure your website reflects your business' best qualities. Personalizing content helps you to reach out to your clients, when your competitors may not be doing the same. Then, you will be able to turn your interest to Search Engine Optimization.
