Putting an Individual Affect On Your Accounting Website Will Give You a Leg Up On Your Competitors

Owners have the freedom to choose any amount of marketing campaigns to apply to great websites for accountants. Some of your options will be economical, others may be pricey or time consuming. For today, we'll take a look at a few basics, rather than just centering on "showing up on page one of a search engine results page." Search Engine Optimization is one of the key factors to getting your site picked up by search engines, but there is a lot involved with doing it right. You'll come across companies who offer to do the work for you, for a steep price. But one step at a time. A site with top placement that isn't personable isn't going to win over any hearts. Now let's start with these basic first steps, before worrying about everything else that comes with Search Engine Optimization.

Content, Content, Content! Not just lots of it, but high quality! Without exciting content, your site won't retain visitors for long. Make sure your website has a lot of good information on it. Include details about what your company provides to its clients and customers, its background, and personnel bios. Your site should paint a clear picture of what you do for your prospective customers and clients. Visitors won't need to seek out answers on a competitor's site if your site already answers their questions.

Make it personal- People like to connect with other people. Win prospects over before they even visit your office, with personalized content and photos. Showing your prospects that you work in their neighborhood, assures them that you share a community and are therefore, trustworthy. Don't be afraid to include some background information on a biography page. This helps prospects see more of your personality, which helps to build a connection. Personalization sets your site apart from all the other matching websites for accountants out there.

There's more to site personalization than just writing about your workers. Does your company encourage employees to volunteer? Does the organization often participate in charity events as a team? These are things you would want to describe on your website to build connections with prospective clients. Title a new page in your navigation bar 'Fundraising Events,' and you give site visitors easy access to a more personal version of your business. Similarly, including a community calendar page shows that you participate in local events and that you support local farms, businesses and artists. Your clients will love to see that you may be attending the same community event as them, so they can see you in person, outside of your firm, in a casual setting. You could also include a corkboard page where clients can post flyers to spread the word about their upcoming event. If your corkboard page becomes popular, you may even see an increase in site traffic, beginning with that page.

Think about the individuals you do business with in your daily life. What do they do to stand out in your mind? Are they hospitable? Quick? Pros? Borrow the examples you come up with as a basis for what you want to make sure you include on your website as it relates to your company. Making a personal connection with the use of good content on your site is going to get you on the right track to stand out over your competition. Later, you will be able to turn your attention to Search Engine Optimization.
