The common symptoms of sinus infection are wider than that of flu and common colds. These include nasal congestion, facial pain, head ache, nausea, some cough and losing your sense of smell. Other symptoms include post-nasal drip and throat irritation.
There are several treatments available for sinusitis. You may go for home remedies or have a physician prescribe some medication. One usual home remedy is eucalyptus. This is done by inhaling eucalyptus vapor. It is one way to loosen up the congestion but it does not provide a permanent relief.
Doctors may also recommend a lot of sinusitis treatments for sinus infection. One of these is the nasal spray. It may contain sea salt, minerals or some medicines. If the inflamed sinus is caused by bacteria you will be made to take antibiotics. For more severe cases the doctor may advise surgical procedures.
